Plain-language terms for using SnapRescue. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these.

1. Who we are

SnapRescue ("we", "us") is an independent desktop application that restores dates, locations and captions to the Memories you officially export from Snapchat. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Snap Inc. Contact: support@snaprescue.app.

2. Your licence

When you buy SnapRescue, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the software on up to three (3) devices that you own or control. The free tier lets you process your first 50 files so you can confirm it works before paying. Your licence is for your own use; you may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, or share your licence key.

3. Payment and licence keys

SnapRescue is a one-time purchase of US$9.99 (no subscription). Payment is processed securely by Stripe; we never see your full card details. After payment you receive a licence key by email and on the confirmation page. Keep it safe. We may deactivate a key that is refunded, charged back, or used in breach of these terms.

4. Refunds: 30-day money-back guarantee

If SnapRescue doesn't do what you need, email support@snaprescue.app within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund you in full, no hassle. On refund (or a payment dispute/chargeback), the associated licence key is deactivated. Nothing here limits any statutory consumer rights you have under your local law, including the Australian Consumer Law.

5. Acceptable use

• Use SnapRescue only on data you have lawfully exported from your own account, or that you are otherwise authorised to process.
• Don't attempt to bypass the licence system, reverse-engineer the app to defeat licensing, or distribute modified or cracked copies.
• Don't use the software for any unlawful purpose.

6. Your content stays yours

SnapRescue processes your photos and videos entirely on your own device. We do not receive, store, or claim any rights to your media. How we handle the limited data that does reach us (your email and licence record) is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Updates

Your licence includes updates to the Windows app. Mac and mobile versions, if and when released, are included for existing licence holders. We may change, add, or remove features over time.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

SnapRescue is provided "as is" and "as available". Snapchat's export format does not include a reliable per-file identifier, so while we restore the correct date and timezone, exact intra-day ordering of same-day memories cannot be guaranteed. We don't warrant that the software will be error-free or fit every possible export. Always keep your original Snapchat export until you're satisfied with the results.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to SnapRescue is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost or altered files; you are responsible for keeping backups of your originals. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date above will change and material changes take effect when posted here. Continuing to use SnapRescue after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws in your place of residence.
